Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking an Associate Executive Director to oversee daily operations and provide cause-driven leadership across staff, volunteers, and programs.

You will manage budgets, fundraising initiatives, and community relations while developing staff and partnerships to advance YMCA goals. The role requires strong governance, strategic planning, and hands-on leadership to sustain program growth.

Qualifications

• Strong business operations background with a proven track record for growth, annual giving and strong financial management.
• Bachelor's degree in a child related field or Sports Management/Recreation/Health Sciences preferred, or relevant college credit in children.
• Five+ years of successful management experience, preferably in a YMCA or nonprofit in health & wellness, business, or related field.
• Supervision of staff and accountability for annual budget exceeding $1 million.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations under the direction of the Executive Director.
• Provide cause-driven leadership in staff supervision, volunteer management, fiscal oversight, and program administration.
• Lead development of budgets, membership and program development, and fundraising efforts.
• Establish collaborations with community organizations and represent the YMCA locally.
