Job summary

YMCA of South Hampton Roads is seeking an Associate Executive Director to oversee daily operations under the Executive Director, providing cause-driven leadership in staff supervision, fiscal oversight, program administration, facility stewardship, and community relations.

This role emphasizes budget management, fundraising, staff development, and developing partnerships to advance YMCA goals across childcare, health and wellness programs, and community impact.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of management experience, preferably in a YMCA or nonprofit health/wellness field.
• Supervision of full- and part-time employees with accountability for a budget over $1 million.
• Ability to lead operations including staff development, budgets, membership/program development, fundraising.
• Ability to collaborate with community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the assigned location.
• Develop, manage, and monitor operating budgets to meet targets.
• Lead fundraising efforts, including the annual impact fund campaign.
• Recruit, hire, train, develop, and supervise staff and volunteers.
• Foster relationships with home office leaders and community partners.
• Ensure safety, maintenance, and proper function of facilities and equipment.
