Job summary

Atlantic Health System is seeking a Scheduler I to handle a high-volume mix of patient and provider inquiries for scheduling diagnostic outpatient imaging and related services across Atlantic Health locations. The role includes insurance verification, pre-authorization, data collection, and accurate EMR transcription, with emphasis on patient experience and timely scheduling in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 0-3 years of prior experience.
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• All legally/reasonably expected certifications needed for function and level.

Responsibilities

• Handle high-volume calls and scheduling for Atlantic Health System locations.
• Verify insurance, obtain pre-authorization, and schedule appointments.
• Collect and verify patient demographic and financial information.
• Transcribe and scan exam referrals into the EMR.
• Coordinate with patients, physicians and payers to confirm status.
• Promote patient portal usage and assist with rescheduling.
• Maintain up-to-date eligibility in Epic Work Queues and communicate status.
• Escalate issues as needed and provide timely responses to requests.
