Job summary

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is seeking qualified candidates for Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1 in Columbus as a full-time role. You will issue credentials, manage customer interactions, and process payments in a high-volume environment.

Position offers a clear career path, a state benefits package, and a $3,500 supplement for MSA centers. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma, a valid Georgia license, and strong customer service skills.

Qualifications

• Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
• High school diploma/GED is required.
• A valid Georgia Class C or equivalent License is required and must be maintained while employed.
• At least one (1) year of face-to-face Customer Service experience within the last five years.
• At least one (1) year of face-to-face experience with cash transactions including handling cash, daily reconciliation, and processing credit card payments within the last five years.
• Comfortable working with computer and internet technology.
• Preferred: three years of face-to-face Customer Service, and/or three years of cash handling experience, and living within 30 miles of the Center, and bilingual skills.

Responsibilities

• Working with citizens to ensure applications, records and documents are completed accurately.
• Accompanying drivers in vehicles, both in a traditional and virtual capacity, to evaluate their ability to adhere to Georgia’s driving laws.
• Conducting driving examinations for motorcycle and commercial licenses in accordance with state law and regulations.
• Operating visual testing equipment.
• Accurately collecting payments via cash or credit cards.
