Job summary

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is seeking a dedicated Identity and Driver Credential Specialist 1 in Hinesville, GA to process applications, issue credentials and support customers in person and online. The role emphasizes accurate record handling, cash transactions, and friendly, patient service while complying with state laws.

Qualifications

Must be eighteen years of age.
Completion of a high school diploma or GED is required.
A valid Georgia Class C or equivalent License is required and must be maintained while employed in this position.
At least one year of Face-to-face Customer Service experience within the last five years.
At least one year of Face-to-face experience with cash transactions within the last five years.
Comfortable working with computer and internet technology.
Preferred: three or more years of face-to-face customer service in the last five years.
Preferred: three or more years of cash transaction experience in the last five years.
Live within 30 miles of the Customer Service Center.
Bilingual skillset preferred.

Responsibilities

Working with citizens to ensure applications, records and documents are completed accurately.
Accompanying drivers in vehicles, in traditional and virtual capacity, to evaluate adherence to driving laws.
Conducting driving examinations for motorcycle and commercial licenses in accordance with state law and regulations.
Operating visual testing equipment.
Accurately collecting payments via cash or credit cards.
