Job summary

Okta Inc. in California is seeking a Solutions Engineer (Corporate/New Business) to act as the technical and domain expert for a customer-facing sales team, helping customers understand Okta’s solutions. You will deliver product demonstrations and plan Proof Of Concepts for complex use cases.

This role combines IAM expertise with strong communication to address diverse customer needs from developers to executives, with about 25% travel and a strong emphasis on collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of pre-sales engineering experience in IAM.
• Strong understanding of IAM concepts, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SAML.
• Experience with lifecycle management, RBAC, and provisioning/deprovisioning.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Corporate/New Business sales team as the technical and domain expert of a customer-facing sales team to help Customers understand the value of Okta’s solutions.
• Understand customer challenges and business issues and provide product demonstrations to align our solutions with customer needs.
• Answer product feature and technical questions from customers, partners and Okta colleagues.
• Plan and deliver Proof Of Concepts for customers with complex use cases, collaborating with other Okta engineering teams.
• Provide feedback to product management about product enhancements that address customer needs and provide additional value.
• Share and learn best practices and reusable assets with other Solutions Engineers to enhance team quality and efficiency.
• Stay current on competitive analysis and market differentiation.
• Support marketing events including executive briefings, conferences, user groups, and trade shows.
• Learn and potentially lead your team as SME with various product solutions and/or competitive knowledge.
