Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead hyperscale data center delivery in our Spartanburg, SC project. This on-site role requires guiding projects from preconstruction through commissioning and handover, coordinating architects, engineers, contractors, and utilities to meet schedule, budget, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in large-scale construction management, strong communication, and a proven track record with complex site activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of construction project management experience involving large-scale commercial, industrial, mission-critical, or infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience managing all phases of construction project delivery, including preconstruction, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, scheduling techniques, contract administration, and project controls.
• Experience managing contractor performance, change orders, cost controls, risk mitigation, and payment application reviews.
• Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams in fast-paced and schedule-driven environments.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interface effectively with executive leadership, clients, contractors, and consultants.
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of hyperscale data center construction projects from concept through completion.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk to ensure project objectives are achieved.
• Provide day-to-day construction oversight and leadership across all project phases.
• Coordinate activities among architects, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, utility providers, commissioning teams, and client representatives.
• Facilitate project meetings, document meeting minutes, track action items, and communicate project status to stakeholders.
• Analyze project performance and develop reports related to schedule, cost, safety, quality, procurement, and risk management.
• Review contract documents, construction drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
• Lead change management efforts, including evaluation, negotiation, and approval of change orders and claims.
• Review and approve contractor invoices, payment applications, and cost forecasts.
• Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Manage project controls, including scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, earned value tracking, and reporting.
• Coordinate commissioning activities and ensure successful startup, testing, and turnover of mission-critical systems.
• Support utility coordination and infrastructure implementation, including electrical transmission, substations, fiber networks, water systems, and site utilities.
