Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Hydropower team across the Southeast. You will lead analysis, design, and construction efforts for large-scale dam projects and contribute to dam safety evaluations.

Preferred candidates hold a PE license and have 5+ years of geotechnical experience, with proficiency in GeoStudio, Bentley, and MicroStation. Travel to field sites is required, with opportunities to progress to project management roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required or recognized.
• 5+ years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with standard geotechnical software and field investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design and construction tasks for large-scale dam projects.
• Drive project workflows, planning and geotechnical investigations.
• Prepare geotechnical analyses, design calculations and reports.
• Support dam safety inspections and client communications.
