Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to lead analysis, design, and construction modifications for large-scale dams and critical power infrastructure across the region.

You will drive project workflows, plan geotechnical investigations, and prepare analysis, design calculations, and reports. The role involves dam safety inspections, mentoring, and potential project management within HDR's Hydropower Practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering.
  • PE license recognized by the licensing board for NC location.
  • 5 years of related geotechnical engineering experience.
  • Experience using AutoCAD, MicroStation or GIS applications.
  • Experience using industry software for geotechnical/ geological engineering.
  • Experience planning, performing, and documenting subsurface explorations.
  • Experience reviewing and interpreting geotechnical data and instrumentation.
  • Experience with dam safety inspections and dam engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Lead analysis, design, and construction modifications for large-scale dams and infrastructure.
  • Drive project workflows, planning, and geotechnical investigations.
  • Prepare design calculations, reports, and specifications; participate in dam safety inspections.
