Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join its Hydropower Practice. You will lead technical analysis, design and construction modifications for large-scale dam projects across the Southeast, working with HDR's team of experts.

You will plan geotechnical investigations, perform analyses, prepare reports, and contribute to project growth and client outreach. Travel for fieldwork is expected, and independent ownership is encouraged.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or MS in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering.
• Requires PE license (NC).
• 5 years of geotechnical engineering experience.
• Experience with geotechnical software and field investigations.

Responsibilities

• Lead analysis, design and construction modifications for large-scale dams and critical power infrastructure.
• Drive project workflows, planning, geotechnical field investigations and lab testing programs.
• Prepare geotechnical analysis, design calculations and technical reports.
• Review dam safety instrumentation data and interpret field results.
• Support marketing efforts and collaborate with multi-discipline teams.
