Job summary

HDR is expanding its Hydropower team across the Southeast, seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to lead analysis, design, and construction for large dams and critical power infrastructure. You will drive workflows, conduct field investigations, and produce geotechnical reports while collaborating with HDR's national Hydropower Practice.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering.
  • Must hold a PE license recognized by the licensing board for the location.
  • Experience with geotechnical software and large dam projects.
  • Experience planning and documenting subsurface explorations.
  • Strong technical writing and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Drive project workflows and planning for geotechnical work.
  • Lead geotechnical investigations and laboratory programs.
  • Prepare geotechnical analyses, design calculations and reports.
  • Review dam safety instrumentation data and FE modeling.
  • Prepare drawings and construction specifications for projects.
  • Participate in dam safety inspections and client marketing efforts.
