Job summary

HDR is seeking a Geotechnical Engineer to join our Hydropower program. You will take a technical lead on the analysis, design, and construction of modifications for large-scale dams and critical power infrastructure across the region, driving project workflows and geotechnical investigations.

This position offers growth through potential project management on mid-size initiatives, involvement in dam safety inspections, and opportunities to support marketing for internal and external clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or MS in Geotechnical or Geological Engineering.
• NC PE license required.
• 5+ years of related geotechnical experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD, MicroStation or GIS.
• Experience with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio/Ensoft.

Responsibilities

• Lead geotechnical analysis, design and construction modifications for large dams and critical power infrastructure.
• Drive project workflows, planning, site investigations and laboratory testing programs.
• Prepare geotechnical analyses, design calculations and reports; review instrumentation data.
• Contribute to dam safety inspections and marketing efforts for clients.
