Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Associate Intern to join our Grid business unit and support engineering teams on transmission and distribution projects. You will help prepare calculations, specifications, and designs while gaining exposure to power design and procurement documents.

You will work three days in-office with two remote days, collaborating under senior engineers to develop skills in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering disciplines.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in BS or MS in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
• Candidates pursuing other engineering degrees may be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting tasks, such as tracking progress and data evaluation.
• Be involved in power designs and preparation of documents for procurement of major equipment, structures, and installation services.
