Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an Associate Engineering Intern to join the Grid business unit and support senior engineers on transmission and distribution projects. The role involves assisting in calculations, specifications, and designs, with project reporting and procurement document preparation.

Hybrid work allows three days in-office and two days remote, targeting a summer 2027 start. Ideal candidates are enrolled in BS or MS programs in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in BS or MS in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering with a strong academic background.
• Candidates with other engineering degrees may be considered if they have relevant coursework in civil, geotechnical, strength of materials, statics, or electrical power.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Self-starter, proactive, able to work independently with minimal direction.
• Ability to quickly identify and prioritize issues, create solutions, and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, specifications, and designs.
• Work on project reporting, tracking progress and data.
• Be involved in power designs and the procurement documents for major equipment and installations.
