Job summary

ABB Inc. is seeking a technically strong, customer-focused Technical Inside Sales Specialist to support a growing sales organization in the United States. You will pursue incoming leads, guide technical aspects, and help convert customer needs into sales opportunities.

You will collaborate across sales, proposals, operations, and customer teams to move opportunities from inquiry to delivery. Hybrid work is preferred with a Houston, TX base, and the role contributes to ABB's Electrification

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business preferred or commensurate experience.
8 years of experience required, including at least 3 years in the electrical industry.
Familiarity with 3-phase AC Power Systems and distribution products.
Experience with complex bid/proposal processes and negotiations.
Strong communication skills across customers and internal teams.
Experience with SFDC (Salesforce) & SAP; willingness to learn new tools.
Experience supporting EPCs, industrial end users, or large account sales preferred.
Travel expectations < 10%.
Candidate must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary inside sales and customer support resource, qualifying leads and providing technical guidance.
Manage and coordinate the proposal process, review RFQs, oversee Salesforce opportunities, support pricing and pre-negotiation activities, ensure on-time milestones.
Drive customer satisfaction and project execution through proactive communication and post-sale coordination.
Support business operations and sales performance by managing account administration, NDA and warranty processes, and developing sales reports/dashboards.
