Job summary

Cleveland Clinic South Pointe Hospital is seeking a Surgery/Special Unit Coordinator to manage scheduled and unscheduled procedures, admissions and appointments. You will ensure accurate patient data, triage care, and coordinate services across departments.

In this role, you’ll work 8:30am–5:00pm with no weekends or holidays, and there is a work-from-home option after 6 months, up to two remote days per week, supporting patient access and efficient clinic operations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of experience in medical scheduling, patient access, or billing, or 3 years in concierge/customer service.
• Working knowledge of scheduling systems and basic PC software.
• Proficiency with Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Validate patient data and coordinate admissions/appointments.
• Identify patients needing financial counseling for services.
• Triaging appointments based on diagnosis, preferences, and physician specialty.
• Coordinate services and provide instructions requested by patients and physicians.
• Schedule intra- and inter-departmentally as per provider orders.
• Receive orders and schedule per protocol; ensure CPT/case info accuracy.
• Serve as liaison with admitting office for reservations and updates.
• Assist department staff and convey patient instructions to families.
