The Surgery/Special Unit Coordinator ensures smooth coordination of scheduled and unscheduled procedures, admissions and appointments, while collaborating with physicians and staff to maximize efficiency and appropriate care.

This role requires attention to detail, strong scheduling skills, and excellent communication with patients and families.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with computerized scheduling systems, patient billing or insurance processing.
• Two years of related experience or three years of customer service concierge experience.
• Proficiency with PC-based systems and software.

Responsibilities

• Manage all scheduled and unscheduled procedures, admissions, and appointments.
• Triage appointments based on diagnosis, patient preferences, and physician specialty.
• Coordinate services and provide special instructions as requested by patients and physicians.
• Perform scheduling intra- and inter-departmentally as requested by orders.
• Schedule outpatient imaging for three Columbus locations and ensure CPT coding accuracy.
