Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior System Protection Engineer to join our Grid Services team in a hybrid role based near Peachtree Corners, GA. You will lead system protection studies, relay settings, and protection philosophy development for high‑voltage transmission and substation projects.

The role includes validating P&C design documents, supporting commissioning, and coordinating with clients and suppliers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 7+ years of system protection engineering experience for transmission/substation projects.
• Experience with relay settings and protection studies.
• Familiarity with CAPE/ASPEN or equivalent protection analysis tools.
• Experience with relay software and databases for managing settings.

Responsibilities

• Perform system protection studies including short-circuit analysis.
• Coordinate protection schemes and verify settings.
• Configure protective relays using vendor software.
• Develop P&C design documents (one-lines, schematics, wiring diags).
• Support event analysis, misoperation investigations, and field energization.
