Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks a Senior System Protection Engineer to lead protection philosophies, relay settings, and system studies for transmission and substation projects. You will coordinate P&C design reviews, support field commissioning, and ensure compliance with industry standards in a hybrid work arrangement.

Primary responsibilities include developing protection schemes, performing fault studies, and coordinating with clients and equipment manufacturers. Relocation may be available.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited EE degree or equivalent.
• 7+ years in system protection for transmission/substation projects.
• Experience with relay settings and protection studies.

Responsibilities

• Lead protection philosophy development and settings for transmission lines, transformers, buses, and capacitor banks.
• Perform short-circuit analyses, relay coordination, and time-current curve development.
• Configure and troubleshoot microprocessor relays using vendor tools; support P&C designs and drawings.
• Support commissioning, field questions, RFIs, and misoperation investigations.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE/ANSI and NERC/PRC standards and client practices.
