Job summary

Arcadis seeks a Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in the USA.

The role involves coordinating the Power System Planning & Study group and performing HVac/HVdc planning, interconnection studies, and transient analyses for North America and globally. The candidate will collaborate with Substation, Transmission, Protection & Control, and Renewables teams, traveling up to 25% to client sites and meetings, with a focus on delivering high-quality system studies

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 8 years of direct power system study experience.
• Proficiency with PSS/E, PSCAD; experience with PSLF, DigSILENT, TARA, or DSA Tools is highly desirable.
• Familiar with key North American market operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SSP, AESO, IESO) policies and interconnection criteria.

Responsibilities

• Support and deliver complex power system study and planning projects.
• Perform load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, and small-signal stability analyses.
• Develop planning/system performance studies and interconnection studies.
• Deliver QA on client reports and deliverables.
• Coordinate with Arcadis Business Units for cross-selling and staffing opportunities.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
