Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Sr. Power System Planning & Study Engineer to join the Power Delivery team in the USA. This technical role coordinates the Power System Planning & Study group and performs HVAC/HVDC planning, interconnection studies, and transient analysis for North America and globally.

The ideal candidate has a B.E./B.S. in Electrical Engineering, 8+ years in power system study and planning, and proficiency with PSS/E, PSCAD, PSLF, DigSILENT, and DSA Tools. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of direct power system study and planning experience.
• Proficiency with PSS/E, PSCAD, and related planning tools (PSLF, DigSILENT, DSA Tools) and knowledge of NA market operators.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and deliver complex power system study & planning projects within regulated, non-regulated, developer, or other industrial clients.
• Perform and review power systems analysis activities including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, small-signal stability analysis, system impact study, reliability analysis.
• Perform planning/system performance studies and transient studies for compliance with prevailing standards and criteria and good engineering practice.
• Delivery of accurate and thorough planning, studies, system design, report summary and other client system study deliverables that will meet industry standards and specifications and meet good engineering practice with excellent constructability.
• Responsible for QA on client reports and deliverables.
• Maintaining close coordination and help other relevant Arcadis Business Units and Practices for cross selling and cross staffing opportunities. As well as Develop project scopes, budgets, and proposals.
