Job summary

Arcadis is seeking a Power System Planning & Study Engineer to lead and coordinate the Power Delivery team. The role involves developing HV/EHV planning studies, interconnection and transient analyses for North America and globally, collaborating with Substation, Transmission, and Renewables teams.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred), 5+ years in power system studies, and proficiency with PSS/E; NA market operators familiarity is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of direct experience within power system study analysis and planning.
• Proficient with the PSS"E software package, including load-flow, short-circuit and transient stability analysis; experience with PSLF, DigSILENT, or DSA Tools desirable.
• Familiar with key North American Market Operators (MISO, PJM, NE-ISO, NY-ISO, CAISO, ERCOT, SSP, AESO, IESO) policies and criteria for grid interconnection and planning.

Responsibilities

• Support, develop, and deliver various complex power system study and planning projects for diverse clients.
• Perform and review power system analyses including load-flow, short-circuit, transient stability, electromagnetic transient, and other studies.
• Conduct planning/system performance and transient studies to meet standards and good engineering practice.
• Deliver thorough planning, studies, system design, and client deliverables with high constructability and QA reviews.
• Coordinate with Arcadis units for cross-selling and staffing opportunities; develop project scopes and proposals.
