Job summary

HOK Group, Inc. in Tampa is seeking a Project Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting team in a hybrid role.

You will support project setup, billing, reporting, and revenue recognition, collaborating with Project Managers and Finance leadership to drive accurate financials. The ideal candidate has 2–4 years in project accounting within architecture/design/construction, strong Excel skills, and experience with Deltek Vantagepoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field required; 2–4 years in project accounting preferred.
• Experience with revenue recognition in architecture/design/construction industries is ideal.
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly invoices, budgets, and project management reports.
• Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system according to contract terms.
• Track and input project budgets and financial data.
• Review project cost reports and advise on profitability and costs.
• Manage consultant invoice processing and communication.
• Review contracts and financial requirements for projects.
• Assist with revenue recognition and monthly earnings analysis.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, and clients on financial matters.
• Analyze project cost reports and review invoicing and cash flow with Project Managers.
• Provide general accounting support and contribute to sustainability efforts.
