Job summary

HOK Group, Inc. in Chicago is seeking a Project Accountant to join our Corporate Accounting team in a hybrid role, with on-site presence Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday in an HOK office.

You will support project setup, billing, reporting, financial analysis and revenue recognition, collaborating with Project Managers and Finance leadership while preparing invoices, budgets and cost reviews; you’ll also help with expense tracking, vendor communications and adherence to contract terms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field required.
• 2–4 years of project accounting experience, preferably in architecture/design/construction.
• Strong knowledge of project accounting principles and revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly invoices, budgets, and project reports.
• Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system per contract terms.
• Track project budgets and financial data; review cost reports with PMs and Finance leadership.
• Manage consultant invoice processing and communications.
• Assist with revenue recognition and earnings analysis.
• Provide general accounting support and respond to financial inquiries.
