Job summary

HOK in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Project Accountant to join the Corporate Accounting team in a hybrid role requiring on-site presence Tue–Thu. You’ll support project setup, billing, reporting, and revenue recognition for multiple large projects within the architecture and design industries.

Ideal candidates have 2–4 years in project accounting, a bachelor’s in accounting, and strong Excel/Deltek Vantagepoint skills. The role offers competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• 2–4 years of project accounting experience.
• Experience in architecture/ design/ construction industries preferred.
• Knowledge of project accounting principles including revenue recognition.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly invoices, budgets, and project reports.
• Set up and maintain projects in the accounting system per contract terms.
• Track project budgets and financial data.
• Review cost reports with Project Managers and Finance leadership to assess profitability.
• Manage consultant invoice processing and communication.
• Assist with revenue recognition and monthly earnings analysis.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, vendors, and clients on financial matters.
• Provide general accounting support and contribute to sustainability initiatives.
