Job summary

Current HR is seeking a full-time Payroll Expert (Payroll Specialist) to coordinate daily payroll-related functions for clients, including processing payroll and advising on timekeeping issues. The role involves multi-state regulatory knowledge, payroll tax handling, and ensuring client satisfaction.

You will work closely with clients and internal partners to deliver accurate payroll services, maintain payroll records, and stay current with regulations through webinars and APA meetings.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of multi-state payroll experience (PEO/multi-tenant)
• Hands-on PrismHR HRIS/payroll experience
• Analytical and investigative aptitude for payroll issues
• Excellent written and oral communication with high attention to detail
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Self-starter, organized, and able to maintain confidentiality
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
• Bachelor's degree preferred; experience in lieu of degree considered; FPC/CPP preferred

Responsibilities

• Process client payroll including child support garnishments, benefits, taxes, and deductions
• Handle payroll changes for new hires, terminations, raises
• Ensure accurate data entry for employee payroll records
• Stay updated on federal/state/local regulations; attend webinars and APA meetings
• Prepare vendor reports (workers’ comp, 401(k), etc)
• Coordinate payroll discrepancy resolution with clients and Payroll Director
• Provide prompt, courteous payroll support via phone or email
• Assist with payroll processing issues and communications
• Other duties as assigned
