Job summary

PrismHR is seeking a Payroll Specialist to process payroll for an assigned client list in a hybrid role. You will collaborate with Higginbotham HR Services team members across payroll, HR, benefits, and compliance to serve clients effectively.

The role requires 3+ years of payroll experience, CPP/FPC preferred, and a strong understanding of federal/state payroll laws. You will handle deductions, benefits reporting, and year-end tasks in a fast-paced, cloud-based environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years payroll experience; CPP/FPC preferred
• Knowledge of federal/state payroll laws to limit client liability
• Experience with payroll reporting (EEO-1, wage statements, 401k) and year-end forms
• Hybrid work environment with ability to participate via video and in office as needed

Responsibilities

• Process client payroll using preferred software and manage time & attendance
• Prepare and deliver payroll reports to client contacts each pay cycle
• Manage deductions, tax changes, direct deposits, new hires, and terminations
• Assist with year-end W-2s and client questions about payroll
• Set up new locations, positions, and pay codes; coordinate with HRIS vendors
• Ensure compliance with payroll laws and respond to payroll tax notices
• SupportBenefits setup and reporting for clients
• Maintain client personnel files and complete verifications of employment
