Essentia Health seeks an entry-level Patient Access professional to greet patients and facilitate registration for in-person and virtual visits. You will collect demographics, insurance, and financial data, provide cost estimates, and help schedule follow-ups under physician orders.

The role emphasizes accuracy, patient service, and compliance in a busy clinic environment. Key duties include verifying IDs, processing payments, and coordinating with the clinical team to ensure smooth patient flow

Qualifications

• Previous Patient Access Representative or Patient Scheduler experience.
• Completion of Healthcare Business Insight's Patient Access 2nd Level Certification Program within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to collect demographic and financial data for accurate registration and billing.
• Obtain insurance cards and IDs, updating information in the medical record as needed.
• Collect co-pays, reconcile cash drawer, and report deposits for revenue tracking.
• Maintain work queues per supervisor instructions and guidance.
• Provide positive customer service and coordinate with clinical teams as needed.
• Answer calls, schedule appointments, and assist with referrals as required.
• Sanitize registration equipment and restock supplies.
• Perform other clerical duties as assigned.
