Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to design, review, and guide protection and control work for HV and EHV substations. You will develop relay philosophies, configure equipment, and oversee drawings and calculations.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with clients and vendors, and travel for design reviews or site verification as needed. Hybrid work in Peachtree Corners, GA with relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Engineering degree required.
• 12+ years of experience designing substations at 138kV and above.
• P.E. license required.
• Experience as liaison to clients/firm in a lead role.
• Experience in relay calculations documentation and support.

Responsibilities

• Designs for substation modifications and upgrades, including calculations, designs and specifications.
• Prepare relaying philosophies and configurations with SCADA concepts.
• Guide junior and senior engineers in protection and control design efforts.
• Investigate and resolve engineering issues; perform design reviews.
• Create single-line, relay, metering, and DC schematic diagrams; perform studies for client reviews.
• Coordinate with engineers, clients, and vendors to ensure timely design delivery.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and support knowledge sharing.
