Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to apply your expertise in protective relaying and controls for HV and EHV substations. You will oversee design, calculations, specifications, and coordination with clients and vendors.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days in the office and two remote, plus relocation assistance depending on location, and opportunities to mentor junior engineers while traveling for reviews and field verification as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering required.
• 12+ years designing substations 138kV+.
• PE license required.
• Experience liaising with clients and vendors as lead engineer.
• Experience writing relay calculation support documentation.
• Proficient with design of technical plans, blueprints, drawings and models.
• Proficiency with MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation protection and controls engineering design efforts.
• Coordinate and guide other engineers, project managers, and client personnel.
• Prepare relay philosophies and I/O diagrams.
• Perform analyses and design of single line diagrams and schematics.
• Review work for accuracy and completeness.
• Travel to client/vendor offices or plant sites as needed.
