Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to apply your knowledge of protective relaying and controls systems for HV and EHV substations. You will lead design efforts, coordinate with clients, vendors and project teams, and mentor junior staff.

The role includes preparing relaying philosophies, developing SCADA concepts and configurations, performing studies and reviews, and traveling to client sites for design coordination and field verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering degree required.
• 12+ years designing substations at 138kV and above.
• PE license required.
• Experience as a liaison in a lead engineering role.
• Experience writing/ supporting relay calculations and technical plans.

Responsibilities

• Design substations and protection/controls systems and prepare diagrams.
• Prepare relaying philosophies and SCADA configurations.
• Mentor junior and senior engineers and coordinate design phases.
• Travel to client/vendor sites for design reviews and field verification.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and suppliers.
