Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Project Manager – Transmission and Substation to lead multidisciplinary teams through concept-to-closeout for high‑voltage transmission lines, substations, and infrastructure. You will align with client expectations on scope, schedule, budget, quality, and safety while delivering projects across utility services.

The role requires 5+ years in project management within the electric power sector, strong communication skills, and travel to project sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a bachelor’s degree in business, management, or a related field.
• 5+ years of project management experience involving transmission lines, substations, or related power projects.
• Experience with PM processes in electric utility/power industry.
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and stakeholders.
• Strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/update project forecasts, schedules, and status reports per Jacobs PM processes.
• Lead project meetings; document decisions, actions, and responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain client relationships; address concerns proactively.
• Monitor performance against scope, budget, and schedule; mitigate risks.
• Coordinate project communications with clients and teams; respond to inquiries.
• Notify stakeholders when forecasted budget/schedule issues arise.
• Support procurement activities, change orders, and status updates.
• Coordinate engineering design, submittals, and quality reviews.
