Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Project Manager for Transmission and Substation to lead multi-disciplinary teams from concept through commissioning. You will manage scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality while coordinating with utility clients across the energy transition portfolio.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in engineering from ABET-accredited program or related field in business/management.
• 5+ years in project management for transmission lines, substations, or related power projects.
• Experience with PM processes in electric utility/power industry.
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to deliver effective client presentations and negotiate.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and attend meetings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare/update project forecasts, schedules, and status reports.
• Lead project meetings and document decisions and actions.
• Maintain client relationships and address concerns proactively.
• Monitor scope, budget, schedule, and quality; mitigate risks.
• Manage communications with clients and stakeholders.
• Notify when budgets/schedules forecast overruns.
• Coordinate procurement, change orders, invoicing, and progress updates.
• Oversee design development, submittals, and quality reviews.
• Resolve field issues per codes, safety standards, and project needs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for project requirements.
• Support siting, permitting, and regulatory matters.
• Facilitate contractor and vendor sourcing, RFPs, bid reviews, awards.
• Identify and pursue new business with existing and potential clients.
• Assist in proposals and presentations for new business.
