Job summary

Jacobs in New York seeks a Project Manager – Transmission & Substation to lead multidisciplinary teams from concept through engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout for high-voltage transmission lines and substations.

You will ensure successful delivery within scope, schedule, budget, quality, safety, and regulatory requirements while fostering strong client relationships and pursuing new business opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of project management experience involving transmission lines, substations, electric distribution, or related projects.
• Experience with project management processes in electric utility or power industry.
• Ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, and stakeholder expectations.
• Strong presentation and communication skills.
• Ability and willingness to travel to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and update project forecasts, schedules, and status reports.
• Lead project meetings and document decisions, actions, and responsibilities.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships by addressing expectations and concerns.
• Monitor performance against scope, budget, schedule, and quality; mitigate risks.
• Manage project communications with clients, stakeholders, and support teams.
• Coordinate design development, submittals, and quality reviews.
• Lead resolution of field issues in accordance with codes, safety standards, and project requirements.
• Support siting, permitting, regulatory matters.
• Identify and pursue business opportunities with existing and prospective clients.
• Assist in proposals, presentations, and other materials for new business.
