Job summary

STV is seeking a Billing Specialist for our Project Accounting group. This hybrid role offers three days per week in the office and can be located in Dallas, TX or Frisco, TX, among other listed STV offices.

You will engage in portfolio-based billing and collaborate with project accounting staff to ensure accurate invoicing. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of related experience, strong Excel skills, and a background in accounting/finance.

Qualifications

• HS/GED Diploma required.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or Business Management/Administration preferred or demonstrated equivalent years of experience.
• A minimum of 5+ years of related experience.
• Strong planning, organizational and communication skills.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel required.
• Experience in the A/E/C industry preferred.

Responsibilities

• Draft project invoices with accuracy and in compliance with contract billing terms for assigned portfolio of projects.
• Audit the accuracy of billing information on the EO and entered in the ERP system during project setup.
• Review contracts, modifications, supplements, amendments, and task orders including invoicing terms and formats.
• With input from the Billing Supervisor, create invoicing templates meeting contract requirements.
• Route invoices to the Project Analyst and PM for approval before finalizing invoices.
• Maintain document control of working invoice files and final invoices as well as approvals.
• Request reinstatement of invoices as required and ensure re-run with no unallocated credits at month end.
• Review WIP alignment with revenue and report to Project Analyst if further analysis is required.
• Develop solutions to billing issues and coordinate with systems design to implement new features.
• May submit invoices to clients or client portals as requested.
• Support invoicing of retention balances at direction of Project Analyst or PM.
• Assist in reconciliation of annual or end-of-project overhead audits as required.
• Advise corporate accounting regarding application of cash receipts to appropriate project and invoice.
