Job summary

Baker Donelson is seeking a Billing Specialist in our Revenue Services department. The ideal candidate has at least two years of law-firm billing experience and can own assigned responsibilities with minimal supervision.

This hybrid role requires collaboration with attorneys and staff, timely generation of invoices, management of prebills and WIP, and adherence to client billing instructions. The successful candidate will report to the Billing Manager and work from the nearest office on the 2nd

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of billing experience in a law firm setting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across departments and teams.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Aderant and Prebill Viewer preferred.

Responsibilities

• Execute billing functions to generate client invoices, review prebills, adjust time and disbursement entries, and apply prepayments and trust funds.
• Generate, post, and distribute invoices to clients and attorneys in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain and update billing databases with client-related billing data.
• Collaborate with attorneys and staff on billing matters and client expectations.
• Monitor unbilled work-in-progress (WIP) to support billing cycles.
• Create reports and spreadsheets from financial data to aid decisions.
• Support special billing projects and ensure adherence to client billing instructions.
