Job summary

Eastern Bank is seeking a Service Associate/Teller to blend traditional branch customer service with teller duties in a hybrid setting. You will support loan processing, deposits, and customer referrals while maintaining compliance and customer relationships.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of sales experience in financial services. The role emphasizes multi-tasking, independence, and strong communication in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of sales experience in a retail, financial services or hospitality environment preferred.
• Some banking experience is preferred (e.g., teller or otherwise) is a plus.
• The ability to communicate information clearly and build relationships across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Simultaneously performs the duties of a traditional branch customer service representative and teller in hybrid role.
• Prepares and processes loan applications for various lending units (mortgage, consumer, small business).
• Closes loans for customers (consumer lending) and makes referrals to other bank lines.
• Proactively reaches out to high-value customers to retain and grow the portfolio.
• Handle deposits, verify cash and endorsements, and provide receipts.
• Process foreign currency purchases and sales; record sale of monetary instruments.
