Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist in Miami for a contract position. You will process payments, handle invoices, and ensure accuracy in the general ledger while enforcing internal controls around cash disbursements.

Responsibilities include reconciliation, vendor inquiries, month-end close, and 1099 reporting. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with benefits including 401k, vacation, and health coverage.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Accounting, Business, or related field preferred.
• 2–4 years of AP/AR experience preferred.
• Experience with Nexsure is beneficial.
• Prior experience in the insurance industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process payments and enter/import invoice amounts into accounting system.
• Process check runs, memo checks, and ACH payments.
• Receive and review invoices for policy compliance.
• Perform daily payment reconciliations across systems/reports.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete month-end and quarter-end AP duties; 1099 reporting.
• Assist AR with daily activities as needed.
• File and remit sales/use taxes; Unclaimed Property filings.
