Job summary

GAI Consultants is seeking an experienced Proposal Specialist/Marketing Specialist to lead transportation and infrastructure pursuits across Indiana, Kentucky, Ohio, or West Virginia. The role is hybrid, blending client-facing and in-house work to craft compelling proposals and win bids.

Responsibilities span end-to-end pursuit strategy, writing, editing, and compliance, with a focus on delivering high-quality submissions to state DOTs, counties, and municipalities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in proposal coordination, proposal management, or AEC marketing.
• Proven track record delivering proposals to hard deadlines with multiple contributors.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign and Creative Suite.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Own full pursuit lifecycle from kickoff through submission and shortlist interview.
• Lead mid-sized pursuits independently; support major efforts with senior staff.
• Ensure RFP compliance; build and manage the response matrix.
• Write and edit narratives, executive summaries, project descriptions, and staff resumes.
• Develop presentation materials for shortlist interviews; coordinate rehearsals and logistics.
• Maintain accurate data in Deltek Vantagepoint and improve how it is captured.
• Create and refine marketing collateral, service briefs, project profiles, and award submissions.
• Contribute to content libraries and templates to raise quality and reduce turnaround time.
