Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Project Sales Engineer to provide expertise in HVAC, piping and electrical systems for retrofit and repair projects. You will work with customers to craft solutions, including financial and energy-based options, and lead the sales process from qualification to closure.

This role emphasizes building relationships with facility managers, project managers, and purchasing agents while coordinating internal teams to deliver successful projects.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or related field with 3–5 years experience in facilities or HVAC services.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and piping design, estimating, and sales.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong mathematical and financial skills.
• Ability to develop and maintain customer relationships and networking.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Estimate, engineer, and sell retrofit, repair, and replacement mechanical projects.
• Maintain relationships with existing customers and collaborate with management and the sales team.
• Provide knowledge and consultation on HVAC system solutions, including financial and performance-based options.
• Prioritize workload with strong time management.
• Identify key customers and develop action plans to grow accounts.
• Identify opportunities with existing and new customers.
• Convert leads into opportunities by coordinating sales team and steps in sale process.
• Develop relationships with buying influences within customer organizations.
• Maintain an acceptable rate of new sales.
• Other duties assigned.
