Job summary

Ferguson Enterprises, LLC is seeking a Counter Sales Representative in Charleston, SC to advise plumbing and HVAC contractor customers and guide purchasing decisions with product expertise. You will support account growth and deliver exceptional service at the onsite counter.

The role runs Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM-4:00 PM with overtime and occasional Saturdays. Pay starts at $19.62/hour, with potential for higher pay based on experience.

Qualifications

• 0–3 years of experience in customer service or sales.
• Sales mindset with ability to meet goals, build relationships, and influence purchasing decisions.
• Strong communication skills for consultative selling and customer engagement.
• Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
• Digital literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly.
• Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Engage customers at the counter, on the phone, and via email to understand needs.
• Serve as a product expert on plumbing and HVAC products.
• Drive sales growth through upselling and promoting programs.
• Use catalogs, computer systems, and databases to locate parts and provide info.
• Process transactions accurately and deliver a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with Outside Sales to support account growth.
• Manage special orders, follow up on status, and delivery timelines.
• Maintain a professional counter environment reflecting quality and service.
