Baker Distributing Company is seeking a Counter Sales Associate to join our HVAC wholesale team. You will staff the sales counter, assist walk-in customers, source parts, and process orders with an emphasis on friendly, accurate service.

The role requires strong communication skills, familiarity with HVAC products, and the ability to up-sell while maintaining safety and professionalism. This is a full-time on-site position based in Sarasota, FL.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication skills and strong customer service background.
• Experience in HVAC parts and sales preferred.
• Minimum 1+ year in counter sales, HVAC industry preferred.
• Knowledge of air conditioning, heating and ventilation equipment at wholesale level.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Represent Baker Distributing Company as a leader in the industry, ensuring maximum sales.
• Interact with internal and outside salespeople, vendors, and contractors.
• Merchandise showroom and restock products.
• Resolve customer relations problems with dealers and end users.
• Complete sales orders and upsell related items.
• Assist walk-in and telephone customers with sourcing and shipping parts & inventory control.
• Provide product information via computer, catalog, phone, or reference sources.
• Arrange stock on shelves and keep merchandise in order.
• Apply suggestive selling techniques to current and prospective customers.
• Adhere to safety protocols and use PPE as required.
• Report safety hazards to management and participate in safety trainings.
• Keep workspace clean and organized and maintain safe handling/storage of products.
