R.E. Michel Company is seeking a Counter Sales representative in Norwalk, CT. You will answer calls, locate items, service customers, generate invoices, and assist with loading and delivering products to customer locations.

Responsibilities include processing orders the same day, handling payments, and ensuring accurate paperwork. Expect a fast-paced environment with safety procedures and potential overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent verbal communication skills with the general public and/or customers.
• Excellent attitude and interpersonal skills to service customers in the branch, on the telephone or at the delivery site.
• Demonstrated proficiency while operating a computer and Prophet 21.
• Basic math skills; understands markup vs gross margin and related effects.

Responsibilities

• Provide fast and friendly customer service in person or over the phone.
• Greet customers and maintain a positive branch presence.
• Enter customer orders in the system on the same day received.
• Pull orders from warehouse and load or stage for pickup/delivery.
• Prepare invoices, CODs, vendor PO's and shipping/receiving paperwork accurately.
• Collect payments and ensure products leave the branch billed.
• Process returns and warranties the same day received.
• Restock and tidy the self-service area and display rotations.
• Create branch displays supporting programs and local markets.
• Locate products for customers and update on delivery/backorder status.
• Report damages, safety issues and accidents immediately.
