Job summary

Alsco Uniforms in Spokane, WA seeks an HR / Payroll Clerk to support the Office Manager with daily payroll processing and clerical HR tasks. You will handle new hire setup, benefits, timekeeping, and confidential payroll communications.

Role requires Excel proficiency, strong English communication, and meticulous, multi-tasking abilities to ensure accurate payroll records and compliance.

Qualifications

• Proficient with MS Office, with an emphasis on Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Proven excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work successfully in a team environment.
• Great organizational and multi-tasking skills; detail oriented.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of general payroll/HR procedures and be proficient in data entry.

Responsibilities

• Process New Hire Packets and set up new employees in payroll systems; set up benefits and terminate employees in payroll software.
• Execute daily payroll functions such as time and attendance sweeps, employee maintenance and weekly closings.
• Maintain confidentiality in communications with management regarding payroll rates, status changes, garnishments, leaves of absence and other sensitive issues.
• Track vacation, leaves of absence, and bonus accruals; process commissions and other deductions.
• Maintain personnel files and respond to governmental requests; participate in the branch Safety program.
