Job summary

MRISpokane is seeking a Payroll Accountant / Payroll & HR Specialist to join a small, collaborative HR team in South King County, WA. This payroll-first role will own biweekly full-cycle payroll for about 500 employees across 15 states and provide HR support where needed.

The ideal candidate will manage multi-state payroll, ensure accurate earnings and deductions, and collaborate with Finance on payroll reporting while maintaining confidential records.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on payroll experience
• Experience in full-cycle payroll processing
• Multi-state payroll experience preferred
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now or another payroll/HRIS platform

Responsibilities

• Process and support biweekly full-cycle payroll for a multi-state employee population
• Manage payroll for hourly, salaried and variable-compensation employees
• Review earnings, deductions, taxes and other payroll calculations for accuracy
• Reconcile payroll records and investigate discrepancies
• Reconcile benefit deductions and vendor billing (medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA)
• Support payroll tax compliance at federal, state and local levels
• Assist with garnishments, levies and child-support orders
• Partner with Finance/Accounting on payroll reporting and GL alignment
• Support payroll, financial and retirement-plan audits
• Maintain accurate payroll and employee records
• Assist with new-hire processing and onboarding
• Support benefit enrollment and other HR activities
• Maintain employment documentation and produce payroll/HR reports
• Protect confidential employee information
• Develop into a dependable payroll partner able to own processes and deadlines
