Job summary

AMI Housing, Inc. seeks a Housing Coordinator to prioritize engaging individuals and families in housing, provide case management, and connect clients to supportive services.

Under the supervision of the Director of Housing Coordination and the Program Manager, you will support housing search, retention, and collaboration with partners to foster stable housing outcomes. The role emphasizes data management, coordination with county partners, and helping clients access entitlements and subsidies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree with 2 years in social services, or a high school diploma with 4 years in social services.
• Bilingual fluency English/Spanish preferred.
• Complete and pass pre-employment background checks (Fingerprints, drug and alcohol testing, TB Clearance and criminal background checks).
• Experience with individuals who have mental illness, homelessness, or related social services.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate individuals and families for permanent housing.
• Develop relationships with clients and maintain a caseload; link to community resources and entitlements.
• Provide ongoing housing coordination for up to 120 days after placement to ensure retention.
• Collaborate with service coordinators and providers for follow-up support and site visits as required.
• Stay current with housing subsidies and assist with securing rental assistance and credit checks.
• Represent housing coordination at collaborative meetings with county and partners.
• Assist in preparing forms for initial housing applications and Section 8 qualifications.
• Conduct move-in orientation and ongoing weekly case management for housed individuals/families.
