Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles seeks a Housing Specialist to identify housing options for program participants and assist families toward sustainable independent living. You will be part of the services team, involved in assessment, planning, engagement and delivery of housing services on-site.

You will support case management, outreach, and referrals, coordinate move-in activities, and develop a housing database while working with landlords and community resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social services or related field required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• One year of experience working with veterans, people in recovery and homelessness.
• Fingerprint clearance/background check required.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and locates housing options suitable for homeless program participants and coordinates with landlords.
• Develops housing databases linking tenants to apartments and facilitates move-in activities.
• Coordinates follow-up services with case management and engages community resources.
