Job summary

Volunteers of America Los Angeles is seeking a Housing Specialist to identify housing options for program participants and help them achieve sustainable independent living. You will assist with assessments, service planning, and engagement while collaborating with case management and outreach teams.

The role emphasizes on-site service delivery, client advocacy, and coordination with landlords and community resources to secure permanent housing placements for participants and their families.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Social Services or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and work experience (four years).
• Bilingual in English and Spanish (written and verbal) preferred.
• Experience with HMIS or homeless services databases beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and locates housing options suitable for homeless program participants and links tenants to apartments.
• Develops support systems to meet clients' housing needs and coordinates move-in activities and referrals.
• Coordinates with Case Management team and services to assist permanent housing placement.
• On-site services must be provided daily at the workplace.
