Job summary

VOALA in Los Angeles is seeking a Housing Specialist to help program participants identify suitable housing and support sustainable independent living. You will assess needs, plan services, and coordinate with Case Management to connect clients with housing opportunities and community resources.

On-site role requiring fingerprint clearance and strong communication with landlords, tenants, and service providers. Bilingual English/Spanish candidates are preferred to assist diverse participants.

Qualifications

• Fingerprint clearance and background checks required.
• Emotional resilience for working with vulnerable populations.
• Equivalent combination of education and work experience accepted in lieu of a four-year degree.

Responsibilities

• Identify housing options for homeless participants.
• Develop a housing database linking tenants to apartments.
• Communicate with landlords and explain VOALA programs and needs of participants.
• Coordinate move-in activities, rental negotiations, and service referrals.
• Assist permanent housing placement and coordinate with Case Management.
