Job summary

Ascent Hospitality in Hammond, IN invites an experienced hospitality leader to join us as Assistant General Manager. You’ll be the GM’s right hand, support Front Office and other departments, and drive day-to-day operations with energy and guest focus.

We seek a hands-on leader with at least 2 years of hotel operations and supervisory experience, a strong service orientation, and solid communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' hotel operations and leadership experience.
• Experience with major hotel brands preferred (e.g., Hilton, Marriott).
• Strong service orientation with focus on guest needs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexible shifts and ability to work without constant supervision.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily department scheduling to ensure smooth hotel operations.
• Partner with GM to foster a positive work environment.
• Support front desk, housekeeping, and other departments as needed.
• Conduct daily walk-throughs and quality checks to drive guest satisfaction.
• Plan, organize and delegate daily operational activities against forecasted volume.
• Communicate across departments to ensure alignment of objectives.
• Approve and process vendor invoices and basic accounting tasks as necessary.
• Ensure safety and policy compliance across hotel operations.
• Fulfill Manager on Duty shifts as assigned.
• Provide coverage in other hotel areas when required.
